Why do the parts need to be sequenced? It's much easier to have them played 'live' by a keyboardist.

Unknown skill, these days, it seems.

I remember a comment by Tom Petty in the film Soundcity Studios when recording one of their biggest hits.
- we must have played that through at least 50 times until we got it right

or similar.

Recommend that Soundcity film, by the way. Covers how things were done long ago and then ProTools started to appear etc. Paul McCartney turned up and they made a track etc.

Dave Grohl bought the old Neve mixing board, and made a soundtrack which I recommend as well. Really good.
