Yeah, I'm not sure that this is it TBH. It apparently has a 16" radius, which is quite flat. I've ordered the thing based off of this guy's discussion of it. To be clear, it does not come with humbuckers, and what I want to try are rail/stacked humbuckers, not something like a mini or a classic humbucker. We'll see, there was a $20 coupon so it's cheap enough that I'm on board with experimenting. I really wanted to try something with stainless frets and I found it really difficult to find something that wasn't a super metal guitar that had them.As others have said, it totally depends on how much ability / willpower you have to do a lot of adjustments yourself. It sounds like you have at least the willpower so go for it.
BTW, I have been in search of a tele style guitar with an arm cut and humbucker in the bridge that didn't look like it was build for metal. Haven't found the right one yet.

In short, I realize that a lot of my ideas about what I like are really related to a long history with buying whatever and then rejecting guitars that I didn't like at some point in my learning curve, that may not apply today. So I mostly avoid Gibsons because I think that les pauls are heavy, I don't like glossy painted necks and I don't like necks that feel like baseball bats. Truth be told, I haven't played a Gibson since one time in the mid 90s when I played someone else's Les Paul for one set. Maybe there is a gibson that I like, I don't know. My second guitar was a Gibson abomination and I only liked it until I got my first Tele, then I realized that I don't like baseball bat necks.
