A funny thing about ads smart tv internet.
Prior to buying my TCL I had effectively walked away from all "TV that wasn't filtered via my browser. I hadn't had a TV since long before traditional over the air TV went digital. I hadn't watched cable since 92 either. Didn't miss it and to this day even though Max is included in my ATT fiber plan I rarely look to see if there is anything worth watching.
So now I've got a smart tv that is connected to my internet which I can't tolerate and wonder why anyone would watch in the first place. But Roku and many others are now forcing you to buy a subscription plan or it will disable hdmi. I got it for hdmi not the rest of the junk. And it's getting worse.

I had a class in the history of broadcasting back in the 1970's We all laughed when it was mentioned that Britons were reluctant to bring TV's into the home at first as they thought the government was going to spy on them. This would be during the 1950's We all laughed about it back then saying how impossible it would be. Guess those dead old folks are laughing at us now.
