I haven't tried it yet, but there are drivers for running Windows from memory, or a disk image file (firadisk etc.) If someone could setup their Windows install perfectly, then they could load it as an image, into ram, with MuLab on the Harddisk or a pendrive. No need for a virus scanner, everything is gone on shutdown. But any non-portable plugins (needing fixed location and registry entries), would need to be installed before booting. It is important to make the distinction between memory booting and disk image booting, as you can make persistent changes during disk image booting.Well tbh all anti virus is stupid. It all slows your PC down immensely. Don't believe me? Try opening a folder with 100 EXE files, see how long it takes for any AV software to scan before showing content. Then disable AV and repeat. Makes a world of difference. But this applies to every folder you open, every app you launch.
Avgfree is worse. Having any AV software is basically testing viruses on your machine. I've never had a virus in 20 years of heavy use! AV software is a con!
Obviously, the project would be quite the rabbit whole. But maybe worth it, if you are one of those people that experience Windows getting slow with every days usage. Also, you'd need a good chuck of memory installed; but windows would run noticeably faster.
