I've been following the various discussions on the rules and I am quite happy to see the OSC is not so rigid and that rules can be creatively relaxed or more limiting from challenge to challenge. The "synth effects only" month is a good idea.
Welcome to the new OSCers, I first tried the OSC over five years ago and sometimes I still feel like a noob! I always have felt welcome though.

I came up with this "guitar in an organ amp" sound in Synister and composed this piece around it. It's really two instances of Synister layered: the main instrument sound and the "dirty" top layer, then some autofilter.
I used 28 instances of Synister in Ableton 10 Suite.
Ableton Plugins/Effects: EQ8 x 11; Limiter x11; Convolution Reverb x 8; Autofilter x 2; Echo x 2; Delay x 1; Utility x 1.
Third Party Plugins: Youlean Loudness Meter 2 Free and Loudmax Free.
