I am probably not the best person to answer these questions because I don't use the strummer and I don't use a keyboard.
1. The truth is, you don't really need the strummer. I program my strumming patterns directly in the piano roll of my DAW (Cubase). A few examples:

Harvest Gold
If you play chords on your keyboard keep in mind to always enable keyboard mode, otherwise the notes in the chord which are impossible to reach on a guitar will be silent.
2. It depends. From the top of my head, the acoustic guitars have finger picking options but the electric guitars don't.
