I know the original pretty well...
Your version has a lot more energy...more rhythmic drive...and that's a good thing for me! It works well over all without a doubt.
Just opinion (listening on decent domestic headphones / speakers):
The mix works - there is nothing there that undermines the listening experience at all...it's all nice and warm / saturated as well.
VERY SMALL points that struck me:
Maybe a little muddy in the lows / low mids? Maybe it's that bass sound - might need taming very slightly (hard to know from here).
Possibly the saturation has been a little overdone? I say this as I might've wanted a little bit more clarity in the mix - possibly it's all a little too blended together? I might've experimented with just a little extra polish / sparkle at the top end as well?
Beware of too many stereo effects...especially in headphones there did seem to be a lot going on from side to side? electric Piano for example?
Maybe a little look at the 3D soundstage - Depth / Width / height...possibly it was very, very slightly 'flat' if that makes sense? But, as I said - VERY SMALL POINTS!
PERFORMANCE:
It's got a great overall groove - al parts sync very well together.
Guitar sounds spot on and the vocals are highly appropriate. Truth - I prefer them to Seal's in some ways.
Are they 'perfect'? Of course not, but that's not the point...they have a good dose of 'soul' and are generally rhythmically accurate yet flowing and pitch-wise they are much more than good enough.
Enjoyed the listens!
